I know you're not open right now but I was just wondering about the 'item' option. How confident/competent would you be at designing jewellery? Rings and pendants and stuff? Or even items made of glass or crystal?
Not a problem at all, I've done a few jewelry designs before, primarily pendants and earrings. Glass and crystal is really just designing with a material in mind, so that shouldn't be too hard. I have a few private commissions right now but I'll be opening general commissions again very soon. If you had more questions feel free to send me a note in the mean time!
Haha, well I guess that depends. I can say that as an artist I actually appreciate a little vaguery. It gives some room for me to breathe with the design and put my interpretation on it. If someone sends me 10 photo references then I'm really just drawing something that's already been designed - which isn't much fun.
A good description for me would be something like "A ring carved from bone with sigils engraved on the outside of the band and a dragon skull on top. The dragon has a small ruby set in each eye and it's mouth comes down to encase the finger. The sigils are reminscent of norse runes." Descriptive, but has room to be interpreted in a few ways.
A poor description would be "A ring with a dragon." There's just too much that could be done - does that mean it's a full dragon on top of the ring, or the ring itself is a dragon wrapping around the finger? Is it made of gold or silver or bone or wood or what? Does it belong to a poor person, a rich person? It's hard to tell because the description is too vague.
